Kalari Yoga

Kalari Yoga is a mystical tantric form of Yoga which evolved from Vadakkan Sampradayam (Northern Style Kalarippayat) and cannot be seperated from Kalarippayat. According to legend its purpose in the practice was to combine the advantages of Hatha Yoga with those of Kalarippayat to enhance the physical and spiritual growth of the Kalari-warriors of medieval Kerala.

Even though Kalari Yoga is traditionally part of Vadakkan Sampradayam it was considered lost. In fact, few Gurukkal even knew about it and the few remaining scriptures remained unitelligible without a living master's guidance.
Othayoth Vinod Gurukkal had been knowing about Kalari Yoga for a long time. His interest in the art and the hope for its revival was rekindled by a trip to central Kerala, where Kalari Yoga has indeed managed to survive the millennia in remote hidden areas

What Kalari Yoga can do to your life?

Different people want to practice Yoga for different purposes: physical fitness, beauty, mental concentration, peace of mind,  enlightenment, wealth, sexual prowess, magical powers etc..

Yes, one can get all of these by practicing Yoga, and there is nothing wrong to expect them -- we are human after all! But, know for sure, the essence of true yoga is something different from all these fitness, beauty, concentration, peace of mind adverts you see nowadays...

Then what is the essence of true yoga?

Yoga means 'Harmony'.

Harmony with what?

Harmony with what you think you are, and what you are really.

For most of us, life is a bundle of ever changing bodies, thoughts, emotions, fancies, day-dreams, goals, people, circumstances, and plenty of unnecessary mental baggage, including boredom. If you really read your own life-story, you might be surprised to find that, the only thing missing is: You. We live our life for the sake of others, society, world... and have no center to stand on our own... no meaning of our own... no being of our own...

To find out that real 'you' is the first and unavoidable step in finding that harmony... Harmony that will eventual embrace our family, friends, fellow-beings, life around us in a deeper way... Ultimately uniting us with that One and non-dual thread of Harmony that binds the entire universe.

It is this universal HARMONY that binds together the entire universe - including ants and elephants, a blade of grass and gigantic trees, a tiny sand particle and huge mountains, you and your bitter enemies...everything! Period.

That's true yoga - yoga that can transform your entire life, from this moment to moment, for ever and forever! All other things like fitness, beauty, peace of mind etc.. are okay but can't satisfy us always. Once you get this Harmony - you got everything that you need to make this life beautiful, meaningful and enjoyable under any circumstances....

So, how to get that HAROMY in my life?

Well, it requires a bit of practice and a pint of wisdom.

Where do you get it?

You get it inside your heart - not the brain. It's the heart of wisdom which teaches the art of living and makes you a master of your own life.

How to access this cave of heart with its eternal fire of wisdom, peace, bliss and love?

You have to come to India to learn and practice with us;-
